After losing her husband, Elaine, 55, began feeling isolated and low in confidence. Her daughter encouraged her to visit the Broad Oaks Centre, and it quickly became her second home. Elaine now takes part in arts sessions, light exercise, and weekly quizzes — and has made new friends along the way. She says, “I laugh again. Daniel, lives with mild learning disabilities and struggled with confidence before joining our supported living programme. With the help of our dedicated staff, he learned essential life skills like budgeting, cooking, and travelling independently. Today, Daniel volunteers at a local charity shop and proudly manages his own flat. He shares, “I never thought I could do things on my own, but now I can — and that feels amazing.” Our team continues to guide Daniel as he builds the independent life he always wanted.
Daniel’s Story – Gaining Confidence Through Supported Living
Mary, wanted to remain in the home she’s loved for over fifty years but needed support with daily tasks. Through our domiciliary care service, Mary now receives regular visits from a familiar carer who helps her with cooking, cleaning, and companionship. She says, “I look forward to seeing Sarah every morning. She doesn’t just help me, she brightens my day.” With our support, Mary continues to live independently, surrounded by comfort, dignity, and peace of mind.
